Panelists

  • Dr. Steven Fennimore, Professor of Cooperative Extension, Department of Plant Sciences, UC Davis.  Dr. Fennimore is an Extension Specialist located at Salinas, California. Since 1997, Steve has conducted a research and extension program focused on weed management in vegetables, flowers and strawberries, and he spends most of his time working in coastal production areas between Watsonville and Oxnard, California.
  • Dr. Chris Shogren, UC Cooperative Extension Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Current research focuses on management of insects, diseases, weeds, and irrigation in horticulture production systems and the urban forest.
  • Emma Volk, UC Cooperative Extension Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Current research focuses on enhancing horticultural production in California, with expertise in disease management, with a focus on chemical alternatives.

Program

The program will begin with short talks from the panelists to let you know of their work on greenhouse and nursery best management practices to prevent and manage weed pressures. Then the panelists will take questions from participants and offer advice with everyone included.
